In 2005, I underwent major back surgery. Afterwards I tried chiropractic care, physical therapy, and massage therapy but none had any last results. I met with a surgeon who told me I was an excellent candidate for a fusion of L4 and L5 discs. I was 50 years old, in excellent physical shape (I have ran 16 marathons) and hoped the surgery would get me back on the road. After the surgery and with one year of recovery my pain level did not improve, instead it got progressively worse. I went back to physical therapy, massage therapy, attended pain clinics and considered injections.

Over the years following the second surgery my pain levels for everyday activities hovered between 6-8 out of 10. I found it difficult to do basic things such as run, bend over to pick something off the floor, put socks on, get out of bed, etc. I resigned myself to a life of constant pain especially after an MRI and my doctors saying the surgery was a "success".

In October (2012), I was given a coupon to try acupuncture. So far, I have gone 12 times and I am ecstatic about the results I have had. I have moved from a pain level of 8 to about a 2, and sometimes no pain at all. This is a miracle to me. I am back running 6-8 miles per day and I am able to do the everyday things without pain. I give G&L Acupuncture my highest recommendations.

The relaxation and calm that their acupuncture/massage combo brings me lasts for days. Even the office staff are exceptional at G&L. Friendly and engaging, one of them offered me a granola bar before my appointment when I told her I hadn't eaten. If I could add another star, I would!

Really knowlegeable practicioners. My right arm has been hurting for 3 years and I've tried everything from physical therapy to weekly Thai massages to other acupunture centers and separate from getting steriod shots or taking pain killers.

Nora and my massage expert Lisa really do the trick! I plan on doing the bi-weekly treatment plan till my arm is 100% and then maybe reduce to weekly for maintainence. They even do facial acupunture (heard it's like a face lift) so I might try that someday. But I would recommend this place.

I was in a car accident 4 years ago and have been suffering from neck, arm, and shoulder pain ever since. I have been in a tremendous amount of pain. My primary care physician prescribed me pain medications like oxycodone and naproxen to cope with the pain, but even then I have not been sleeping well. I went to see a physical therapist but it only helped some. I have also tried a chiropractor but after a few treatments I started experiencing numbness in my fingers after adjustments.

Even though I am not a needle person I decided to give acupuncture a try, because I just wanted to feel better. Since starting treatments I have improved greatly. I have less pain and stiffness in my neck, arm, and shoulders to the point that I am coming off my pain medications and have been able to sleep through the night. As a bonus, acupuncture has also helped with the numbness in my fingers. Overall, I am feeling more energetic, less depressed, and have my spirits up high.

I came to G&L Acupuncture and Wellness Center 3 years ago. I have an obstructive lung condition called brochiectasis, which became complicated by a bacterial infection. I was initially treated by a pulmonary specialist and an infectious disease specialist. I had surgery resulting in the removal of 25% of my lungs. Afterward, I felt extremely run down and fatigued. None of the traditional medicines worked.

I sought acupuncture treatment in order to rebuild my immune system and alleviate the ongoing fatigue. After receiving regular acupuncture treatments, I now feel much stronger. I am able to do many more activities than I used to, and I rarely get sick.

I was nauseated and it had been going on for 6 weeks. It was debilitating to the point where all I did was lie in the fetal position and I didn't eat or drink anything for days at a time because I feared being more nauseated and vomiting. I went to my doctor and a gastroenterologist specialist and both gave me very inconclusive answers and told me to take a handful of pills, none of which helped.

After only 2 acupuncture treatments the nausea was gone and by the end of the 5th treatment I was back to myself 100%. No nausea, no fatigue, and I was able to keep food and water down. I looked forwarded to each and every appointment. Modern medicine told me to deal with the discomfort and take medication, but G&L Acupuncture and Wellness Center was able to treat the nausea and make it stay away.

I met Dr. Liu at a health fair at my work site, and he saw me limping and came over to talk to me about my health problem.

For 3 months, I had been experiencing lower back pain, along with numbness and electrical sensations in the back of my leg and knee. I could hardly walk when I got up in the morning, and I couldn't complete all of my job functions. Recreational activities were almost impossible. I was treated by a chiropractor and physical therapist with no success. Dr. Liu thought he might be able to help me with acupuncture.

I was fortunate to receive some immediate results from the treatments. I could sleep on my side and I could walk better. With each visit I gained more ground, and eventually I could perform all of my job functions, take part in recreational activities, go on walks and sleep better.

Two years ago, I came to G&L Acupuncture because I had symptoms related to menopause including problems sleeping, constipation and hot flashes. I tried talking to my general physician about these issues, but I didn't receive much of a response.

I didn't want to take hormones, so I tried acupuncture. I am now sleeping much better, and the constipation and hot flashes are almost completely gone! Some of my friends get their nails done at the salon to feel better, but I do acupuncture!
